The Polar Express is one of my favorite secular Christmas stories. We were privileged to take our son on a Polar Express experience in Ohio last year and so many wonderful memories were made. Chris Van Allsburg, author of The Polar Express was born in Grand Rapids, Michigan (where I am based). Our city is referenced in the movie and the snowy winter atmosphere featured certainly feels like home.
When I received the request for this project, the concept of a golden ticket immediately jumped to mind. The invitation is double-sided and printed on a very thick, metallic gold coverstock with notched ends to create the ticket shape.
This mom also wanted thank you cards that included a message, but these can be ordered blank as well. I was tickled to see how they turned out and hope that this little guy has an amazing birthday!
I also think these could be easily altered to accommodate a non-birthday event and could even be super cute gift tags...especially for train-loving little boys & their classmates!
Please download the order form & send it to me via email: allison@nealondesign.com (button below) If you prefer to simply send me details via email without the order form, that is fine. Please provide the design you would like, event information, size, and quantity needed. I am happy to provide a quote at your request.

Gingerbread House Party — Peppermint
I did a version of these invitations last year and updated the design for 2012. I must admit that I took great layout inspiration from a wonderful designer, classmate, and dear friend of mine, Nikki Adair at LaBelle Fette. Her daughter's birthday invitation had a very similar structure and I just loved it.
Once again, this was so fun to work on and it makes me want to host this party. Perhaps when my brand new baby turns 3-4....
