Save the Date • Chris + Cari

I have been so busy with Christmas cards and other orders, I haven't posted anything new in a long time! However, I couldn't resist getting this beautiful couple up on the blog. All of their engagement photos are stunning, so it was just a matter of adding the information in a simple and elegant way.

I look forward to working on additional pieces for their wedding....and for her to officially be my sister-in-law!

The double-sided postcards are 4x6 and can be mailed using a reduced rate postcard stamp!

GOLF CLUB Save-the-Date

This is a simple, 3.5x5", single-sided flat card with rounded corners. It is classy and gets the information conveyed accurately tucked inside a coordinating, 4bar, "gumdrop"green envelope. This is a very economical option at only $.95 per set. That price includes the green envelope and the return address printing on the back flap!

A coordinating wedding invitation suite will be posted soon.

Color changes are welcomed upon request.

ART DECO (Gatsby) Save-the-Date

The bride and groom are planning a vintage glam/Gatsby inspired wedding using black, white, and gold, plus the sparkle and shimmer that comes with an F. Scott Fitzgerald novel! She sent me the Fitzgerald quote to use on the front and I found art-deco patterns and coordinating friendly, yet fancy fonts to create a glamorous save-the-date. The gold glitter is a printed background texture.

These are very economical at only $.95 each when ordering over 100 in increments of 25 (requires at least a week and a half lead time).

I'm excited to work on the actual wedding invitations in the near future!

AUTUMN PECAN Save the Date Postcard

This project was a lot of fun to work on and I am very pleased with the final design.

The couple will marry at their Pecan orchard, so we worked to create a whimsical announcement with this imagery. I also love the subtle pecan leaf that adds an additional texture to the front and back of the postcard.

I will continue to work with the bride to complete the wedding suite with a classic, contemporary invitation design that uses copper and brown tones and hope to include the leaf cluster in these pieces.

LACE Save-the-Date POSTCARDS

I am so excited about these save-the-date postcards and I can't wait to see how the invitation suites come together! I am not a huge lacey person, but I LOVE how this lace is subtly combined with a modern script and bold, engravers-style font. I intend to carry over the subtle use of the lace onto the invitation design as well. I always try to create a common theme within all of the pieces of the wedding package.

These economical, double-sided postcards are 4x6 in size, allowing a postcard-rate stamp. The front will be coated in a high gloss covering for additional durability during mailing. The back will remain uncoated for easy addressing. I've even added very faint lines to aid the addressing process.

Stay tuned for additional pieces within this suite!

USAFA - Class of 2001 Reunion SAVE-THE-DATE

I am very proud that my husband is a member of this prestigious class. It was my honor to offer design services for the 10-year reunion that I am excited to attend as a spouse.

Hopefully these save the date postcards will help encourage many classmates to attend.

A Modern yet Natural Wedding Save-the-Date

I am SO EXCITED about these wedding save-the-date postcards. The invitations designs are also really coming together!

Natalie is my cousin....my mom's first cousin's daughter, so whatever that makes her to me. I'm really hoping to attend this fabulous August affair. Natalie is an absolute delight and I would love to witness her very special day, especially since I've had so much fun doing the "paperwork".

Natalie & Mike chose the modern yet natural, color scheme of olive, gray and poppy. They also wanted to include a tree image. Finding an appropriate tree for a summer wedding that is graphically interesting using olive and gray is not the smallest task. :) Since the wedding is going to be outside at a ranch, when I found this vector tree on istockphoto.com, I knew it had great potential. I love the grungy look to it, but knew that I could tone it down a bit to make it more appropriate for a wedding.

Another element of this card that I really like is the website listed on the back. Since the web address is quite long, I used it as the vertical divider between the information side of the postcard and the space for the recipient's address. I used the bright, poppy color to make it stand out even more.

Since this is a postcard, they are saving a ton of $ on postage. The current cost of a postcard stamp is 28¢, but it is going up to 29¢ in mid April. Hopefully these will go out before the increase!!

Beachy Floral — Save the Date

I am very excited about this entire wedding suite. The save the dates are just a preview to a coordinating invitation for a fun, destination, beach wedding!

These save-the-dates are 5 x 7 postcards printed on a 15 pt. cover stock, coated on one side for added durability in the mail and I will be printing addresses on the cards after I get them back from the printer. (I am very excited about this as I just tested it out yesterday!)

I particularly like the fact that they wrote the date of their wedding in the sand and I am able to use it as a subtle texture on the back side of the card!

It has been a joy to work with this bride and her mom and I can't wait to see how everything turns out!!

A Tiger 10-Year Reunion

Isn't a save-the-date postcard for a high school reunion an excellent idea? Hopefully these spirited tiger cards will increase the awareness and turnout for this Virginia high school. I had such fun designing these postcards with a front gloss coating. The back side is uncoated so an address label and reduced priced postcard stamp will adhere beautifully!
