Bird's Nest Baby Shower Invitation

My sweet sister-in-law contacted me about designing baby shower invitations for a party she is co-hosting. She liked the "nest" theme as it has to do with a new arrival and a pregnant woman's need to "nest" before the baby is born.

The mother-to-be is expecting a baby boy, so I used a nest illustration with a blue egg. It is very easy to customize the color scheme to your needs or desire and I can also add multiple eggs for moms expecting multiple babies!

Cute Cupcake: First Birthday Invitation

How cute is this child?! And how convenient that "Dunn" and "one" happen to rhyme!!

I adore the photo progression pictures with this "neapolitan cupcake" party. I got to use one of my favorite color combinations: pink and chocolate brown. I love the stylized little cupcake with dots and stripes. I added the cupcake with the address on the flap of the envelope, too.

Stay tuned for custom, coordinating thank you cards that feature the birthday girl covered in cake from her special day!

Elite Contractor Services LOGO Design

When I started designing logo packages years ago, I never dreamed I'd do so many in the construction industry! This is another batch of designs for a local contracting company. I'm very pleased with how they turned out and hope that my clients are equally excited about their new company identity.

Cat in the Hat Birthday Invitation

The Cat in the Hat knows a lot about THAT....being 4 that is.

I hope Shields and his mom like the outcome of these youthful, nostalgic Dr. Suess invitations. I love the color combination of aqua and red and who doesn't love red and white stripes?!

The invitations are 3.5 x 8.25 vertical cards printed on 100 lb. Cougar Opaque White paper with white A9 envelopes, complete with the return address printed on the flap.

Coordinating, flat thank you card sets (130# cover stock) complete the invitation set, especially paired with a matching aqua, A2 envelope and 2.5" circle address label stickers to seal the thank you envelopes.

Eagle Creek Construction LOGO Design

Contrary to popular belief, western Michigan is still a thriving place and our fabulous, little neighborhood is growing rapidly. I was thrilled when my fellow builder neighbor(s) asked me to design a new logo for their construction company. This is what I came up with. The design they chose (largest at top) was my favorite! It will be used primarily on signage. I'm so happy they went with the modern/edgy one. I think it is very fitting because the homes they build are a wonderful combination of cozy and modern with all the latest and greatest features. I hope there are many more Eagle Creek homes in our neighborhood and throughout west Michigan!

Nautical Baby Shower Invitation

I am very happy with the way these baby shower invitations turned out. My client wanted a nautical theme, but nothing cheesy and overdone with light blues, yellow and white. I found a little poem online that mentions sailboats and baby boys and I thought it was perfect as a header. I added a pewter gray to the color scheme and created a little sailboat using several different patterns in the sails. I also used the same colors to make a preppy, yet youthful plaid for the background.

These hostesses are very thoughtful and even ordered the mom-to-be coordinating thank you cards. We kept cost down by using a flat card (instead of a fold-over) and if there are extras, they could be used for other occasions as well.

(update 9.1.11)
I recently revised this design for a baby girl. It turned out too cute not to share. I can adjust the colors as needed to fit with your desired theme. I hope you like it too! (Please click on it to enlarge.)

As a bonus, if this new mom would like to use this same concept for baby announcements through Nealon Design, there is no additional design fee and she will still get a handful of custom designs to choose from!! This applies to any client looking for supplemental, coordinating pieces.

Check out these coordinating birth announcements.

Dress-up Tea Party Birthday

A super cute invitation for a tea party or dress-up party for your little lady. The invitation is completely customizable with various color schemes and patterns. Email me if you would like a quote for your party.

Please notice a new product that I just started carrying: wrap around address labels!! Add a message as well as an address to the outside of your envelopes. There are 10 labels per sheet and no additional design fee. I can design these for any of my invitations or thank you cards. They work especially well with dark colored envelopes or on smaller sized envelopes when envelope printing is not advised. Pricing depends on quantity needed. Email me for a quote.

On a personal note: When I was a little girl, I had a birthday party just like this one. I clearly recall dressing up in my mom's fancy clothes, complete with a giant hairpiece from the 70s. My mom made a fabulous cake with little favors baked right into the middle. I had "tea", peanut butter and honey sandwiches (no crust, cut into triangles), and cake with my best friends...also dressed to the nines in their mom's clothes.

It was a fabulous party and I believe there are some great mid-1980s photos as a great memento. I'll have to see if my mom can dig a couple out and I'll add them to this post!

CARS Birthday Invitation Suite

Apparently, if you do a Google search for "Cars Birthday Invitations" and look in the images, you can see a picture of the invitations I designed for Connor's 2nd birthday and a link right to this blog! (At least that is how I found it when I did a Google search.) This really excites me!

I learned this because I've had 3 separate requests for Cars invitations customized for their sons in the last 3 weeks. These wonderful new clients don't know me at all (or anyone else that knows me...to my knowledge). Two are actually international!

I've broaden my product line for this set. If you are interested in these cards for the birthday party you are hosting, please send me an email including the products you are interested in and the quantity needed. And if you can dream up something else you would like that I might be able to make, let me know...I'll see what I can do!

Please keep in mind that the invitation also comes in a double sided version with a character coloring sheet on the back. Regardless of size it is 12¢ more per invitation for the coloring sheet. Click here to view.

There are 16 cars in a full set. (Lightning McQueen, Chick Hicks, Doc Hudson, Fillmore, Flo, Guido, the "King", Lizzie, Luigi, Mack, Mater, Ramone, Red, Sally, Sarge, & Sheriff) You are welcome to request which cars are used on your invitations. There is not an additional fee for using one or all.

—— U P D A T E ——

Since Cars 2 has now been released, I am now offering a design that is more reflective of the theme of the 2nd movie. Click here to view. When ordering, please specify if you prefer the Cars 1 or Cars 2 design! Thanks!

Spiderman Birthday Invitation

It was great fun designing a customized Spiderman birthday invitation for Grant's big #4! This is available as a single-sided invitation or the double-side option (shown above) with a coloring sheet on the back (similar to the Cars birthday invitations). These can even be customized with the recipient's name the coloring sheet to make them even further personalized and special.

The coordinating thank you cards are approximately 4.25 x 5.5 fold over cards and come with white, red or black envelopes.

I have other Spiderman designs also available if you are interested in a similar product for your child.

Beachy Floral — Save the Date

I am very excited about this entire wedding suite. The save the dates are just a preview to a coordinating invitation for a fun, destination, beach wedding!

These save-the-dates are 5 x 7 postcards printed on a 15 pt. cover stock, coated on one side for added durability in the mail and I will be printing addresses on the cards after I get them back from the printer. (I am very excited about this as I just tested it out yesterday!)

I particularly like the fact that they wrote the date of their wedding in the sand and I am able to use it as a subtle texture on the back side of the card!

It has been a joy to work with this bride and her mom and I can't wait to see how everything turns out!!

Winter Holiday Card

I was recently asked to design a "politically correct" holiday card for our dear friend, and financial advisor. Since he'll be sending these out to all of his clients, he wanted to keep it professional. He wanted a modern look, with black and white as the primary colors. I sent him several design options in a variety of sizes.

He opted for the 4 x 9 horizontal card with rounded corners and coordinating, red envelopes. White would have matched fine, but we didn't want this holiday card to be confused with other business-sized mail.

We are printing his signature on the front of the card, and his return address will be printed on the back flap of the envelope, so hopefully this will save him lots of time when it is time to mail them out!

If you are also looking for a more traditional, non-photographic holiday card, I would me more than happy to meet your design needs as well.

Dan Vis Builders, LLC

Dan is our neighbor, friend, and one of the amazing builders on our street. He asked me to design a logo for his company, and I was happy to help.

Here is the selection I provided as options. Do you have a favorite?
I am working on the business card design and when it is approved, I will add it here as well.

"SHEPHERD" — Sepia & Patterns Birth & Thank You Card

"SHEPHERD"
So, are these not two of the cutest little boys you have ever seen?! Perhaps I am a bit biased, but I'm allowed because I am their aunt! The newest addition to our family, Shepherd Christian Trotter, arrived 4 weeks early on August 28th. It is my privilege to design announcement/thank you cards in his honor.

Super Sweet 1st Birthday

Alli Claire is turning 1! Her mom had the super clever idea of printing a full picture on the backside of a 5 x 7 invitation. This way friends and family have a framable picture of the birthday girl!

Most of the designs I supplied Kelly with were loosely based on an adorable dress she is ordering for the birthday girl. I thought carrying over the cupcake and some of the patterns would tie the two together nicely.

Check back for coordinating thank you cards with a picture of Alli from her party!
