POLAR EXPRESS Birthday . Ticket Invitation

The Polar Express is one of my favorite secular Christmas stories. We were privileged to take our son on a Polar Express experience in Ohio last year and so many wonderful memories were made. Chris Van Allsburg, author of The Polar Express was born in Grand Rapids, Michigan (where I am based). Our city is referenced in the movie and the snowy winter atmosphere featured certainly feels like home.

When I received the request for this project, the concept of a golden ticket immediately jumped to mind. The invitation is double-sided and printed on a very thick, metallic gold coverstock with notched ends to create the ticket shape.

This mom also wanted thank you cards that included a message, but these can be ordered blank as well. I was tickled to see how they turned out and hope that this little guy has an amazing birthday!

I also think these could be easily altered to accommodate a non-birthday event and could even be super cute gift tags...especially for train-loving little boys & their classmates!

Gingerbread House Party — Peppermint

I did a version of these invitations last year and updated the design for 2012. I must admit that I took great layout inspiration from a wonderful designer, classmate, and dear friend of mine, Nikki Adair at LaBelle Fette. Her daughter's birthday invitation had a very similar structure and I just loved it.

Once again, this was so fun to work on and it makes me want to host this party. Perhaps when my brand new baby turns 3-4....

"DECLAN" — Birth Announcement

I have waited so long to get to design another birth announcement for a child of my own. This wasn't my original plan for the design of his card, but I love how it turned out.

We love you so much, little man!

Declan Trotter Nealon

Our precious son, Declan Trotter Nealon arrived at 12:51 on Wednesday, September 26th at 12:51 pm. He weighed 7 pounds, 3 ounces and was 20 inches long.

The whole family is home now and recovering well. We are truly blessed with both of our boys and couldn't be more thankful for our precious gifts.

CHUGGINGTON Birthday Invitation

Based on my own 4 year old man, I know little boys love trains. I am very pleased with how this Chuggington-inspired invitation turned out. It was originally designed for brothers with the same birthday, so if you have a similar situation or twins, let me know and I can show you how it looks for two kids.

The wording inside the "logo" can be whatever you wish: "Birthday", your child's name, your last name, etc. etc. Just let me know how to customize it for you!

I've added the "extras" available below. I can also work up some sort of pennant banner if you are interested. Notice I even added custom cupcake toppers with the cake type (other flavors also available). Email me to order.

BALL PIT Birthday Invitation

I've actually thought of having a party for my little guy using this theme, so I may have to recycle this invitation for myself!

These invitations were designed for a party to be held at a place called "My Gym". Although we don't have any in my area, after looking at the website, I came to the conclusion that a ball pit theme would be appropriate, colorful & cute.

The colors of the balls & letters are customizable as is the age. Just let me know what you want your invitation to include.

Here are the matching "extras" available.

Flutterbug BABY SHOWER Invitations

After seeing my "Peek-a-Boo Monsters" invitations, I was commissioned to design some to coordinate with a bedding set by Kidsline called "Flutterbug". These cute little insects were fun to recreate and I love the soft pinks and purples, perfect for a little girl's room.

I've tried to include a variety of style options. Please refer to the invitation styles by number. #1-#3 are available in 4x6 and 5x7, while #4 is only available as a "monarch" size (same pricing as the 4x6).

Of course I have coordinating "extras" to match.

To order, all you need to do is email me the design of your choice, noting the size, all shower information and any special requests including color & wording changes. I'll also need to know the quantity needed and if you would like return address printing (12¢ per envelope), thank you card sets or stickers.

The whole project should take about a week from order to delivery. I ship using USPS Priority Mail and accept payments via PayPal and by digital check (you take a photo of the physical check and email me the JPEG).

Feel free to contact me for additional information.

Silver ASPEN Leaves Wedding Suite

This design stemmed from a request from my other Aspen leaves invitation suite.

This design uses a metallic "platinum" coverstock for the gatefold with a metallic "graphite" backer. The coverstock for the actual invitation itself can be bright white or natural.

The bride asked that we tie in her save the date card (that I did not design) that used a bark-like texture with the heart, so we added that on the band.

I will be adding pictures of the actual pieces as soon as I get them off my camera....

"ALEXIS" - Double Mounted Metallic Birth Announcement

Isn't she a beauty?!

These announcements turned out beautifully.  I love the metallic papers used for the image itself and the bronze backer.

The actual announcements are even fancier with a lace embellishment and gem. (I'll try to add a picture later.) This option is available, but I'll be honest and say that they took me forever to assemble with the embellishments...

40th Anniversary Celebration Invitation

My wonderful parents celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary in August of this year. However, I'm ashamed to say that this invitation was not designed for them....

I did keep them in mind while working on this "ruby" year celebration. I love patterns and textures and thought this was a sophisticated, yet modern way to celebrate a marriage of 4 decades. It also lends itself to be modified easily for other milestone years.

Pricing is for the 3.5 x 7.25 (actually closer to 7.5") sizing.

Email me to order.

Scooby-Doo BIRTHDAY

A "girly Scooby-Doo birthday invitation" was the request I received.

This was the end result. I'm pleased with how they turned out, even if they took me longer than I'd anticipated.

Here is a "boy" version of the A design. This one is actually for 2 boys, but I just wanted to show an example of the fonts and colors appropriate for a Scooby-loving little guy.

All 3 of these designs can be ordered at the 4x6 or 5x7 size. Pricing is to the right, based on quantity. I haven't designed any thank you cards or stickers at this point, but just let me know what you are looking for and I'm sure I can whip something up!

Please keep the length of your child's name in mind when you order a specific design (A, B, or C). Obviously "Stephanie" won't fit very well in the C design.

Corner ROSES 70th Birthday Invitation

I recently received a request for another milestone adult birthday...using pink and white. I can use any number you wish...not limited to 60 or 70th birthdays.

I actually pulled up an old image and reused it with a modern twist (Elegant 80th). I've worked it up in 2 different sizes and it can be used beautifully with a photo or without. (I would recommend using a black and white photo if you go with that option.)

Believe it or not, the return address printing is actually one of my favorite parts of the design. Although I normally love colored envelopes (because they stand out in the mail), the fancy printing really requires a pointed flap, available in white. I am happy to do return address printing with the colored envelopes too, but the layout would be different to accommodate the square flap.

The color scheme is easily customizable, so just let me know what you in have in mind.  Email me with questions or to order. Pricing is based on quantity and size and can be seen on the right side of this blog.

AUTUMN PECAN Save the Date Postcard

This project was a lot of fun to work on and I am very pleased with the final design.

The couple will marry at their Pecan orchard, so we worked to create a whimsical announcement with this imagery. I also love the subtle pecan leaf that adds an additional texture to the front and back of the postcard.

I will continue to work with the bride to complete the wedding suite with a classic, contemporary invitation design that uses copper and brown tones and hope to include the leaf cluster in these pieces.

Gingham Dragonfly — Bridal Brunch

I received a request for a less formal version of my brunch invitation already on the blog.

The venue is more casual: checkered tablecloths, mason jars for drinking glasses, etc.

The bride used a dragonfly on her save the dates and her wedding colors are poppy, gold and gray. I combined all of these elements to come up with a sophisticated, fun brunch invitation.

Email me to order this exact invitation or request special modifications to make it perfect for your needs.
