Creating a professional LOGO & promotions package sets the tone for your business.

This was a 2014 project that I am just now adding to the blog. It was great collaborating with Lindsey to create an effective, eye-catching logo for her new business. The logo was then incorporated into two different styles of business cards and unique resume or cv (curriculum vitae) that graphically and typographically represented her career experience.
I have designed my own resumé, but this was the first I've designed for someone in a non-arts field. The importance of the visual design of a resumé is often overlooked, but of utmost importance. This single sheet of paper is the VERY first impression that someone has of you or your business. It should help you stand out and promote YOU from the start. This version was designed to be handed out or downloaded from the internet from the Growth Studios website.

Abby Jayne Photography — MARKETING CARDS

This talented friend and photographer did a great job on our family photos this fall and has really grown her hobby into a full business, in addition to her full time job as a surgical Physicial Assistant, and a mommy to two little ones. I seriously don't know when she sleeps!

These marketing cards highlight seniors in high school specifically, hoping to boost her location shoots...beach and urban settings. I used her existing logo and combined some of her favorite senior images to create an effective marketing tool. She does an amazing job and the CD of edited images is always included in the investment price! What a deal!

Twisted Root Marketing — LOGO design

This logo (from 2013) was a lot of fun, but also very challenging. With a name like "Twisted Root" there is a difficult balance to create graphic representation of growth without showing an entire tree, that makes it look like more of a landscaping company. Using only roots or roots with a couple of branches makes it look like a dead plant...also not the goal.

I'm pleased with the finished product and am showing a couple of the logo variations for multiple uses.

Marbella Promotions — LOGO design

There is a lot of personal history behind the name and meaning of this new promotion company, specializing in embroidery, heat transfer and custom apparel.

"Marbella" means African Daisy. The business owners wanted to use the orange/yellow colors of the African flower and for the logo to be professional with a creative/design touch.

I've shown the finished logo design as well as one business card option and a square icon for social media.

Lip Service — Movember

I was recently commissioned to create a team logo for a group of guys growing mustaches in the month of November to raise money for Men's Health. The movement is called "Movember".

The logo will be used for tshirts and other fun marketing products for this specific team (Lip Service).

rul9 — LOGO design

I'm really excited about the selected logo design for this upcoming dance apparel line.

The target market is youth 15-25 years old — hip-hop, urban. They wanted clean lines, a bit on the edgy side. It needed to be clean and easy to read, especially because it will be used on clothing labels.

The rul9 website is in the works, but will add a link when it is ready to go!

Pure Bark — LOGO design

If you haven't noticed, most dog treats have pretty obnoxious packaging...sorry, just being honest.

I collaborated with the Pure Bark owner and founder to create a logo with clean lines and a strong graphic statement. I'm really pleased with the final product and product labels are now in the works.

Atlanta Production Consultants — LOGO design

I've done Christmas cards for Nicole for the last few years and she asked me to design a logo for her new company, Atlanta Production Consultants. She wanted to include the city skyline and a film reel since the nature of the business is to provide services to the film industry. She also wanted to use a "Georgia peach" color. You've got to be really careful with peach so it doesn't end up looking PINK, but I think we did a good job. 

I designed a her logo, facebook cover "photo", and marketing cards to highlight the services her company offers.

One of the beautiful aspects of this logo is that it can maintain the same overall look, but the colors can change to create an entirely different feel for seasons or events. We changed it up to shades of green for St. Patrick's Day and to highlight and upcoming event the company is co-hosting called Prodcution Link. FB Event.

My friend and neighbor is very talented behind a camera and has decided to pursue photography as a part-time career while she also raises her beautiful sons. It was my pleasure to work up a logo for her that fits her style.

LIFT — LOGO Design

Custom logo for a client looking for a modern, urban logo using black, red, blue, & gray. It was also important to allow space for a city to be listed to differentiate between locations.

Tulips & Teacakes — LOGO design

This floral and dessert boutique wanted a fresh look with a little whimsy using lavender and green. I love the swashes in "tulips" and that the "i" is dotted with an iconic tulip, and the "stem" is green. Teacakes is in a deeper lavender with a classic, serif typeface to anchor the logo. Upscale, clean, & simple.

Here are some of my "digital doodles" to provide a peek into the design process. Sometimes it comes really easy and quick...and at other times, design can be truly challenging.

Dan Vis Builders - Marketing Cards

I designed Dan's logo last year just finished creating some marketing cards for him before the Parade of Homes showcases one of his beautiful new houses. I'm not sure how well you can see the pictures, but his attention to detail is unmatched and he builds all of his own custom cabinetry.....impressive to say the least!

Weddings at Chaumette

I love working with Rhonda. I began working with her as I designed an invitation suite for a bride getting married at Chaumette. Since then, Rhonda has been promoted to Director of Wedding Events and asked that I spruce up her business cards. I also designed the cover and inserts for the wedding event binder that couples marrying at Chaumette will receive.

Katman Customs LOGO

With so many holiday card designs to complete, I was finally able to finish up the identity design for Katman Customs. It is a new embroidery company in New Jersey.

When designing their logo they wanted to use a hot pink and kelly green with a pop of dark blue. They also already had sew in labels from Cherry Hill Designs using a very specific script. I wanted to use this somehow so they could continue to use the labels and they would still match! I had to do some research on which font was used, but I found and obtained it. I provided a variety of concepts and this is the end result.

Peek-a-Boo Paintings BUSINESS CARDS

My extremely talented friend asked me to update her logo and design some business cards for her prosperous custom painting business.

She has a love for, and uses a lot of polka dots in her designs. It was only fitting to incorporate this pattern into her new design. I also used youthful fonts because the majority of her work is for young children.

Independent Professional: REALTOR

Caroline came to me as a realtor wanting a sophisticated, professional new look while keeping her color scheme of red and black. My goal was to create dynamic elements on her double-sided cards, thus creating two "fronts" instead of a front and a back. There was a lot of information included, but I am pleased with overall layout for both sides. I am especially happy with the interesting typographic placement of her initials to create a logo concept for her independent, professional career.

This is my first time including icons for Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn on a business card. It was Caroline's great idea and I was able to manipulate the image files to match and fit beautifully into the layout.

Rounded corners and a high gloss finish on both sides are sure to set this dynamic realtor even further ahead of her competition.

Independent Professional: EDUCATION CONSULTANT

Ann recently retired after 36 years in education. She now serves as an "Education Consultant" part time giving presentations through Service Centers. She wanted a business/contact card that was an accurate representation of her personality with a professional look and feel to leave behind.

I provided Ann with a series of styles and compositions to choose from and this is the design she selected. She wanted a double sided business card, so I suggested that she include either a favorite quote or educational philosophy on the back. Ann found a Chinese proverb that beautifully reflects her passion about a teacher's need to engage in continuous learning and growth.

I also designed coordinating flat cards for her to write brief follow-up notes.

JDM Photography: Company Identity Package

Early last year I worked on a company identity for a talented photographer in the Augusta, Georgia area: Jennifer D. Miller Photography. She has been using that "brand" for over a year, but discovered that one of the other designs within her batch of compositions was a better fit for her company at this point. So, we switched things around!

I love the playful dots, and Jenny loves blue and brown. It all fits together beautifully. Graphically, my favorite part is the watermark. She can easily add this file to any of her images to protect her copyright on the files while simultaneously advertising for herself!

Elite Contractor Services LOGO Design

When I started designing logo packages years ago, I never dreamed I'd do so many in the construction industry! This is another batch of designs for a local contracting company. I'm very pleased with how they turned out and hope that my clients are equally excited about their new company identity.

Eagle Creek Construction LOGO Design

Contrary to popular belief, western Michigan is still a thriving place and our fabulous, little neighborhood is growing rapidly. I was thrilled when my fellow builder neighbor(s) asked me to design a new logo for their construction company. This is what I came up with. The design they chose (largest at top) was my favorite! It will be used primarily on signage. I'm so happy they went with the modern/edgy one. I think it is very fitting because the homes they build are a wonderful combination of cozy and modern with all the latest and greatest features. I hope there are many more Eagle Creek homes in our neighborhood and throughout west Michigan!
