A Vineyard-Winery Wedding

The green is not as yellow-y in real life as it is appearing on my screen....the bottom right image of the leaf is the most accurate.

After designing some bachelorette party invitations for Kelley, she sought me out to design her actual wedding invitation suite. This was such a fun project.

The wedding is being held at a vineyard & winery. Of course the first image that came to mind was grapes. However, that is very cliché and did not fit with the light sage, & champagne (with cranberry accents) color scheme. I found a simple grape vine image that I was able to modify and apply it to pieces throughout the wedding suite.

The invitation is 4.5 x 6.5 flat card, mounted to a "tropical green" pocket card. This provides a 1/4" backing for the invitation, and a pocket to nest the double sided timeline "Wedding Day" card and the double sided response postcard. I used 100# Opaque Natural paper for all cards. The pocket card itself is 80# coverstock. The A7 envelopes are 70# text and include the return address on the flap. I also formatted and printed all of their recipient's addresses on the front of the envelopes to save the bride and groom precious time and make the suites even a little bit more special.

I am very pleased with the programs (pictured below). Kelley wanted to include little bios of all of the wedding party within the program. Obviously that takes up quite a bit of space, but I didn't want to do a program "book". After brainstorming for a bit, I came up with this super cool, accordion fold program with a banded cover. It is a pocket-sized 4.25 x 5.5 and opens to reveal 4 panels of information on the front (2 for the ceremony and 2 for the wedding bios). The back also allows for 2 panels of printing so it includes flower dedication and a thank you page to all that made the day possible. So, tons of information in a cute little format. :) The program is all held together with a 2.125" band that includes the couple's wedding logo as well as the date and location of the event.Although a paper issue (combined with a holiday weekend) made assembling these guys a little stressful (requiring overnight shipping), I hope the bride and groom are thrilled with how they turned out!

Funky, Fresh, 1st BIRTHDAY!

I'm really pleased with how these little invitations turned out! Avonlea's mom sent me a picture of the birthday girl's outfit (bloomers instead of leggings) and gave me creative freedom from there. I provided quite a few designs, but the finished product is a fun balance of cutesy and festive, including an adorable picture of the birthday girl. Although the colors and prints are also appropriate for older girls, the playful font and poem make it absolutely perfect for a 1st birthday celebration!

SAM — Traditional GRADUATION Announcement

This style of graduation announcement is a great way to highlight various aspects of a senior's personality. It is a 5 x 7 single sided card with a high gloss finish to make the colors really stand out.

The style of script can also be changed to fit the personality or overall feel of the card. There is also plenty of room to include additional information about the graduate.

BACHELORETTE Beach Weekend (Silhouette)

It is almost wedding season, so I've had several request for the beach bachelorette party invitations that I designed last year. This single sided design is a bit more economical and uses the same silhouette concept and large block of lettering as the previous, double sided version. There are many many ways to customize! Let me know how you'd like to tweak it or tell me your vision for an entirely new design.

"MAYA" — Lavender Baby Girl Birth Announcement

"MAYA"
Isn't she a doll?! I only wish you could see her full head of dark brown hair! I just ordered all of these announcements yesterday and I can't wait for them to come in.

I actually used a little Photoshop magic to turn what was a pink hat, purple. :) Her room is decorated in a subtle lavender and gray and I spoke with her mom and dad about the announcements even before the photo shoot took place. Kaity did a great job with the pictures and mom and dad purchased the rights to these two shots, allowing me to use them on this card.

The back of the card is a full 5 x 7, frame-ready, photo for all of those receiving the news of this beautiful little bundle.

Welcome to the world, Maya!

Bird on Branch BABY SHOWER Invitation

Something about spring time means lots of babies are on the way, thus lots of baby showers!

I'm really pleased with these baby blue and royal invitations. There are subtle, dashed diamonds in the background and a silhouetted bird as a symbol of new life. The whimsical script is the perfect choice to highlight the mother's name and registry information.

The color scheme of this design can be customized to be the perfect complement to the shower you are planning. Email me for a quote.

Mickey Mouse Clubhouse BIRTHDAY Invitations

Is your little one a big fan of Mickey Mouse Clubhouse? If you are planning a party around that theme, check out these invitation options. There are 4 single sided 5 x 7 options available and I am happy to customize with your little one's name, party information and age. The sets come with white envelopes, but you can also upgrade to any color. You can find recommended color options in the thank you card options image.Perhaps you have a little girl that is having a Disney birthday and you want something just a little more feminine with all the characters. Or maybe your little one doesn't have an "o" or and "i" in his/her name.. I can add polka dots and/or ears to any name or number. This is just one way that I can really customize the invitation to fit your needs exactly. Just tell me what you have in mind.
Due to the popularity of this design, I've decided to offer it in a more economical 4x6 size in addition to the 5x7. Any of the designs can be ordered in either size, so please specify.  I'm also testing out providing pricing on the blog. We'll see how it goes. Please click on the image to enlarge. Please note that if your design requires significant additional work, I will notify you of an increased design fee.

Below are options for thank you cards. There is a fold-over option and 3 flat card choices. I can also convert one of the flat card designs into a fill-in thank you. Thank you card sets come with colored envelopes, so the color choices are on the right. (I can also switch out the Mickey for a Minnie!) Seal your thank you cards with coordinating address stickers. There are 12 stickers per sheet and each sheet is $3.50. (Girly options that match the invitations are also available.)When ordering by email, please include the design you prefer, quantity and, the party information you want included on the invitation. Once I have received payment (PayPal or check), it typically takes me 1-2 days to get you a proof of your complete invitation set. Shipping via the USPS will take place within 2 days of approval.

Here is another more classic option. This one features Minnie, but it is easy to adjust for Mickey, too...also available in pink and white!

Beachy Floral — Wedding Invitation Suite

If you follow this blog closely, you may remember the "Beachy Floral" Save-the-Dates I designed earlier this year. Well, it is time for the invitations now!

And here are the program fans for the actual ceremony. The bride chose to include only their names and wedding "theme" to one side and include all of the ceremony information and wedding party on the back. Also, do not be deceived....the green in the photo is way off....they match the invitations perfectly.  v

A Modern yet Natural Wedding Save-the-Date

I am SO EXCITED about these wedding save-the-date postcards. The invitations designs are also really coming together!

Natalie is my cousin....my mom's first cousin's daughter, so whatever that makes her to me. I'm really hoping to attend this fabulous August affair. Natalie is an absolute delight and I would love to witness her very special day, especially since I've had so much fun doing the "paperwork".

Natalie & Mike chose the modern yet natural, color scheme of olive, gray and poppy. They also wanted to include a tree image. Finding an appropriate tree for a summer wedding that is graphically interesting using olive and gray is not the smallest task. :) Since the wedding is going to be outside at a ranch, when I found this vector tree on istockphoto.com, I knew it had great potential. I love the grungy look to it, but knew that I could tone it down a bit to make it more appropriate for a wedding.

Another element of this card that I really like is the website listed on the back. Since the web address is quite long, I used it as the vertical divider between the information side of the postcard and the space for the recipient's address. I used the bright, poppy color to make it stand out even more.

Since this is a postcard, they are saving a ton of $ on postage. The current cost of a postcard stamp is 28¢, but it is going up to 29¢ in mid April. Hopefully these will go out before the increase!!

Lawn & Garden Couples Wedding Shower

A dear family friend of mine from back home (Georgia) contacted me about designing a wedding shower invitation for a couples within the "Lawn & Garden" theme. I had a lot of fun coming up with several designs using florals, textures, and wedding-ish scripty fonts while trying to convey the outdoors as well.

The hosts decided to go with the least formal option using first names and an image of a rather abstract tree with blowing leaves. The chocolate brown and gumdrop green color scheme are bold, modern, and very suitable for a shower of this nature (pun intended...). :)

Please email me if you would like to see other design options for a lawn and garden shower.

HERE is a more floral garden design.

Independent Professional: REALTOR

Caroline came to me as a realtor wanting a sophisticated, professional new look while keeping her color scheme of red and black. My goal was to create dynamic elements on her double-sided cards, thus creating two "fronts" instead of a front and a back. There was a lot of information included, but I am pleased with overall layout for both sides. I am especially happy with the interesting typographic placement of her initials to create a logo concept for her independent, professional career.

This is my first time including icons for Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn on a business card. It was Caroline's great idea and I was able to manipulate the image files to match and fit beautifully into the layout.

Rounded corners and a high gloss finish on both sides are sure to set this dynamic realtor even further ahead of her competition.

If you are an independent professional looking for a new look, I'd love to create something special for you too. Email me for a quote and more information.

Independent Professional: EDUCATION CONSULTANT

Ann recently retired after 36 years in education. She now serves as an "Education Consultant" part time giving presentations through Service Centers. She wanted a business/contact card that was an accurate representation of her personality with a professional look and feel to leave behind.

I provided Ann with a series of styles and compositions to choose from and this is the design she selected. She wanted a double sided business card, so I suggested that she include either a favorite quote or educational philosophy on the back. Ann found a Chinese proverb that beautifully reflects her passion about a teacher's need to engage in continuous learning and growth.

I also designed coordinating flat cards for her to write brief follow-up notes.

Thank you, Ann for the opportunity to work with you on this fun project!

JDM Photography: Company Identity Package

Early last year I worked on a company identity for a talented photographer in the Augusta, Georgia area: Jennifer D. Miller Photography. She has been using that "brand" for over a year, but discovered that one of the other designs within her batch of compositions was a better fit for her company at this point. So, we switched things around!

I love the playful dots, and Jenny loves blue and brown. It all fits together beautifully. Graphically, my favorite part is the watermark. She can easily add this file to any of her images to protect her copyright on the files while simultaneously advertising for herself!
